Therapeutic Drugs: Tetracycline
The tetracyclines are mainly bacteriostatic, with a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity including
Chlamydiaceae, Mycoplasma spp., Rickettsia spp., spirochaetes, many aerobic and anaerobic Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogenic bacteria, and some protozoa.
Tetracycline has been used as part of triple therapy to eradicate Helicobacter pylori in patients with peptic ulcer disease (Gastrointestinal Drugs).
